“湖畔派”诗人喜爱大自然，厌恶资本主义的城市文明和冷酷的金钱关系。他们远离城市，隐居在昆布兰湖区和格斯拉米尔湖区，由此得名“湖畔派”。《我孤独地漫游，像一朵云》是Wordsworth的一首代表作，充分体现了华兹华斯的浪漫主义自然观：自然与人本为一体，只有返璞归真，回归自然，才能净化感情，达到和谐，生命的本质才能体现。
