乌梁素海乌梁素海位于中国内蒙古自治区河套平原东端。蒙古语意为杨树林。湖泊面积约220平方千米。其形成与黄河主流改道有关，最早的黄河沿狼山南侧的乌加河作主流东流，后因地壳隆起，黄河受阻急转南流，冲出一个较大的洼地，这就是乌梁素海的前身，以后，由于风沙东侵和狼山南侧的洪积扇不断扩展，致使河床抬高，乌加河被泥沙阻断，河水溢流到洼地形成了乌梁素海，而黄河主流被迫改由南侧东流。现代乌梁素海主要靠乌加河和长济渠、民复渠等灌溉的尾水补给。水深0.5～1.5米，最大水深约4米，蓄水量2.5～3亿立方米。水的矿化度呈上升趋势，70年代初为4克/升。70年代后期，矿化度上升到6克/升。湖中饵料充足，鱼类资源丰富，除盛产鲤鱼外，还有鲫、草、鲢等20多个鱼种。芦苇、蒲草资源亦很丰富。
