我看到过直入云霄的云杉，观赏过婀娜多姿的柳树，却从没看见过垂榆这样的树。垂榆的叶子真绿啊，像一块块无瑕的的翡翠挂在枝干上；垂榆的枝干真密啊，夏天时一片片绿树叶挂在上面，活像一把撑开的绿绒大伞，站在里面竟看不到一丝阳光；垂榆的树干真细啊，像一位美丽的姑娘在微风中摇曳着。远远望去，一棵棵垂榆刚冒出新芽，这为美丽的校园增添了几分春意。
垂榆围绕着的是平整的操场。操场真大啊，上千人站在里面竟不显得拥挤；操场真干净啊，整个操场上没有一片纸屑；操场上真热闹啊，下课后，同学们在一起踢球、跳皮筋、玩耍嬉戏……
